Colombard Chardonnay.
Light golden straw in colour, the Banrock Station Colombard Chardonnay displays aromas of lifted fresh citrus blossom and limes with just a hint of passionfruit. Very delicate oak undertones. The palate is has fresh citrus and floral flavours with great length. Careful lees stirring has given a creamy texture, adding to the palate weight and giving a nice round mouth feel to the wine. Subtle oak adds sweetness to the palate, adding complexity to the wine, while allowing the fruit flavours to show through.
Winemakers Comments
Fruit for this wine was harvested in the cool of night, ensuring that maximum varietal freshness was retained. After carefully crushing the fruit, the must was transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Here a small portion of the wine was exposed to oak, adding a subtle toasty background to the wine.

The Banrock Station Colombard Chardonnay is superb when matched with chicken dishes, Asian dishes or just on its own.
